STRIP HEATERS

HD HIGH DENSITY STRIP HEATERS

Ogden High Density Strip Heaters The HD Strip Heater's highly compacted refractory material quickly conducts heat from the resistance wire to the sheath resulting in low internal temperatures and long heater life in the most demanding applications. Precise placement of the resistance wire provides uniform sheath temperature across the width and along the entire heated length. Terminal designs allow easy installation wiring. 3/8" thickness creates a rigid sheath for secure clamping ability. The HD Strip Heater is ideally suited for many industrial and commercial applications.

  • Termination: 10-32 threaded post terminals offset at one end (Type A), one terminal at each end (Type B), or perpendicular to length at one end (Type C)
  • Terminal Box
  • Ceramic terminal covers
  • Secondary insulators PCW-6266 and PCW-6267 are required for mounting in air heating application or when HD Strip Heaters are wired in series on line voltages above 480. Also, specify if a 9/16" x 11/16" mounting slot to accommodate insulator
  • Width: 1-1/2" ± .020"
  • Length: To 53-7/8" overall length (A dimension)
  • Thickness: 3/8" ± .02" - .035"
  • Maximum Voltage: 600

FINNED HD STRIP HEATERS

Finned HD Strip Heaters feature the same highly compressed, rugged design as HD Strip Heaters with the addition of 1-3/8" X 2" fins. Fins increase the heat transfer surface area to allow higher wattages than standard HD Strip Heaters. Rust resisting iron sheath items are standard with aluminized steel fins. Stainless steel sheath items are standard with stainless steel fins. Convection heating or processes requiring a high velocity air stream are among the many possible applications for Finned HD Strip Heaters.

MIGHTY-TUFF STRIP HEATERS

The Mighty-Tuff Strip Heater provides high temperatures, extreme watt densities and quick responses in applications where previously, any other type of strip heater could not be considered. Heat is transferred rapidly from the resistance element to the sheath for lower internal temperatures and long life. The thin but rugged design can produce high sheath temperatures at high watt densities. The Mighty-Tuff is versatile with the availability of widths to 6" and lengths to 42". In the most difficult application or in normal use, the Mighty-Tuff will significantly improve strip heater performance. Careful consideration in clamping strip heaters to the surface will improve heat transfer and extend heater length of service.
Mighty-Tuff Strip heaters can be supplied with any lead configuration as shown on Mighty-Tuff Bank Heater section, such as Type F, C, A, R or P. The illustration is with Type C Armor Cable protected leads.
2-1/2" wide Mighty-Tuff with SG terminals. SG terminals are perpendicular to the length and have 10-24 threads. Available on 2" and wider.
7/8" wide Mighty-Tuff Strip Heater with SE terminals. 10-24 threads with a terminal at each end is the standard design.
2-1/2" wide Mighty-Tuff with SG terminals and 3/8" diameter mounting holes.
7/8" wide Mighty-Tuff with SE terminals and 3/8" diameter mounting holes

MICA STRIP HEATERS

Versatile, efficient and economical, the Mica Strip Heater is of the same construction as the Mica Band Heater in flat design. Because of the range of dimensions and configuration possible, these units furnish even heat distribution for use in hot plates, sealing equipment, hot stamping, dies and molds and hundreds of other surface heating applications.
TYPE L1 - Widths over 3/4". 12" lead wires standard. TYPE L2 - Widths over 1". 12" lead wires standard.
TYPE T1 - Widths over 1". Requires 1" cold section each end. TYPE T2 - Widths over 1-1/2". Requires 1-1/2" cold section at terminal end.
TYPE T3 - Widths 1-3/4" cold section at terminal end. TYPE B2 - (Tapped Terminals)
** (T1, T2 & T3 terminals have 10-24 thread and require 15/16" clearance from surface being heated. B1, B2 & B3 require 1/2" clearance.)
Full case - For use where surface contact on both sides of heater is necessary. Mica Strip Heaters are also available with lead modifications fig. 3,5,6 & 16(shown) and plug configurations as shown in the Mica Band Heater section.
Watt densities to 35wi2. Standard thickness is 5/32". When ordering, specify: length and width, type of termination, wattage and voltage (resistance tolerance +10; -5%) and special features.
