Mechanical & Electrical Features:
Motors of epoxy-coated steel frame construction, with cast iron endshields, conduit box and steel epoxy coated fan cover. Chemically inert, non-sparking fan. Finish is a tough, epoxy, yellow enamel. Shafts are phosphatized steel, with recessed neoprene shaft slinger.

All feature one-way condensation drains at both ends, and are internally treated with electrically tough, and chemically resistant, resin base compounds, highly resistant to oils, acids, alkalies and heat to resis "inside-out" corrosion. Corrosion resistant steel hardware with an epoxy overcoat. Stainless steel nameplate. Sealed ball bearings, preloaded, suitable for mounting in any position. Class "F" insulation system, copper windings, and 1.15 service factor. These motors meet IEEE 45 and military specifications CCM-1807, including fungus-proofing conforming to MIL-V-173.

The WASHGUARD® All-Stainless Motors are also appropriate for many chemical applications. The chart, shown HERE, details the chemical resistance of both the stainless steel parts and the specially-treated aluminum end bells and conduit box.

NOTE: FOR LARGER CHEMICAL SERVICE MOTORS, USE 150-170 SERIES CAST IRON MOTORS AND CHEMICAL SERVICE/SEVERE DUTY CONVERSION KITS. ABOVE 100HP USE 800 SERIES WATTSAVER® SEVERE DUTY MOTORS.

LEESON's Inverter Rated Insulation system (IRIS™)
provides superior protection against voltage spikes induced by variable frequency drives. This total insulation system protects better than spike-resistant magnet wire alone. Specially formed phase insulation, cushioned and sleeved connections (from the leads all the way into the turns), and deep-penetrating, non-hygroscopic, high temperature varnish are just a few features contributing to extra protection. All this plus second generation spike-resistant magnet wire. The IRIS™ total insulation system is standard at no extra cost in all LEESON stock NEMA three-phase motors, 1 HP and larger.
