INTERBUS-Drive Shuttle Modules

INTERBUS-Drive Shuttles are compact drive instruments for asynchronous motors. Their high IP-rating means they can be used decentrally directly on the process line. The bus connection technology borrowed from INTERBUS sensor/actuator boxes forms the basis for using sensor/actuator boxes and motor control switches together in one network.

This makes it possible to network conveyor systems in particular in a fully decentralized fashion. The broad product range satisfies all requirements from the simple direct on-line starter through to operating pole-changing motors in commutating load mode.

Using INTERBUS motor control switches offers you, the user, the following advantages:
Savings in the amount of switch cabinet space thanks to decentralization
Structured on-site installation instead of complicated switch cabinet construction
Simplified line prefabrication and commissioning of functional units
Fast fault correction thanks to extensive diagnostic options and
Outputs for auxiliary devices, such as brakes or fast response excitation modules.

Targeted Diagnostics and Status Messages
The local diagnostic displays integrated in the motor control switch permit any malfunction to be rectified quickly. Light-emitting diodes provide information about the status of the bus connection as well as the states of the digital inputs and motor outputs.

The opportunity to monitor the motor current makes it possible to monitor mechanical functions in the application.

Easy to Install - Proven Connection Technology
POWER-COMBICON terminal blocks can be used for connecting the complete motor periphery as well as the power networking. The supply voltage (typ. 400 V AC) is routed from module to module in parallel to INTERBUS.

The INTERBUS installation remote bus interface is implemented using the proven SAB plug connection.
An additional standard M12 receptacle allows a hand-held control unit to be connected. This allows the motors to be driven without the bus in the case of a malfunction or during the installation phase. Also, individual line components can be run-in locally during commissioning.

Local Intelligence
The integrated controller makes it possible to set the parameters of the motor current as well as diagnose any asymmetry and phase failure. Overcurrent at the motor output is also signaled to the controller via INTERBUS. Four initiators per motor output can be connected to the motor control switch locally using standardized M12 plug connectors. The integrated, digital inputs make it possible to perform straightforward linkage functions so the motor control switch can even be used as a simple positioning controller.

INTERBUS-Drive Shuttles - Distributed Motor Management in Conveying Technology
An inexpensive INTERBUS-Drive shuttle variant has been developed specially for distributed networking of asynchronous motors up to 1.5 kW. As for the standardized devices, there are connection options for digital inputs, thermistors and brakes.

In addition to a housing variant in IP 54 protection, this device has also been constructed in a stainless steel housing in IPE67 protection. The stainless steel housing is particularly suited for use in systems in the food industry.
