INTERBUS Remote Terminals in Application

INTERBUS remote terminals - RT modules for short - are compact input/output units with a built-in bus terminal function. They are inserted directly into the INTERBUS remote bus.

RT modules can be operated in one bus structure with all INTERBUS modules from PHOENIX CONTACT and all compatible devices from other manufacturers. In systems with many input and output points, it makes sense to have a setup incorporating INTERBUS stations and ST-modules.

The use of remote terminals is recommended at points with low I/O volumes. The devices have protection type IP 20 and can be installed in the smallest terminal boxes and housings thanks to their compact, flat design.

Their low height means INTERBUS RT modules can also be installed in switch cabinet doors. To enable you to use the RT modules to optimum effect in your applications, PHOENIX CONTACT offers various types of module to cover almost all uses.

Fixed Wiring with Pluggable Terminal Blocks!
Sensors and actuators are connected via pluggable terminal blocks. Potential bridging adapters are available for systems involving the connection of multiple conductors. These adapters are screwed onto the RT modules directly.

Connection is either by way of the screw clamp or spring cage system.

Individual Labeling on Generously Sized insert Cards!
All inputs and outputs can be individually labeled on the generously sized label field. Labeling may be by hand, by printer or by plotter, as desired.

Installation on Mounting Rails or Mounting Surfaces!
INTERBUS RT modules are rail mountable. They can be clipped onto mounting rails (NS 35) to EN 50 022 or screwed onto mounting surfaces. The connection to protective ground is established automatically when they are snapped onto the mounting rail.
