MAN Roland, with its production in Augsburg, is one of the largest manufacturers of web-fed printing presses worldwide, with the tradition going back 150 years and with the know-how to go with it. Constant improvements and new concepts guarantee the company new market niches, in which publishing houses such as Axel Springer-Verlag can be counted among the clients.


MAN Roland has chosen to use the Interbus installation local bus since 1992. This decision paid off a long time ago with a reduction in planning costs. A considerable amount of money could also be saved in installation and the start-ups with the convenient diagnostics of the Interbus local installation system. It was technically important for MAN Roland to find an especially quick and reliable transmission system to meet the high demands of the publishing houses with respect to machine availability. The fact that interface implementation of the installation local bus occurred in a very short time, that it was especially economical and that the sensors from the components suppliers could be equipped quickly and easily with an interface for the Interbus installation local bus, proved most positive in the new concepts.
